As of 1 July 2026, the maximum contribution limit for a funeral bond to be treated as an Exempt Asset by Centrelink & DVA, has increased from $15,750 to $16,250. That means that a funeral bond will be an Exempt Asset for Centrelink and DVA pensioners, providing no more than two funeral arrangements are held and their total does not exceed $16,250.
